A Message from the Supreme

The Grove site may look drastically incomplete at the moment – & that’s because it, well, is. Mind the construction as we Build That Greatness around these parts. 🙂

If the site here ain’t displaying right on your mobile device, select “view desktop page” or equivalent to fix that issue!

Therefore, we humbly ask that you add an exception for our site – – in AdBlock/uBlock Origin or whatever you use. Thanks, and solidarity in Harmony! 🙂

#PC2StormStalkers – A West Coast States Heat Wave!

Behind the scenes, there’s a lotta building going on, so it’ll be a bit before weather analysis picks up again, but this is just too crazy to mention.

We here in North Central Texas have been having a pretty typical, “humidry” (humid, but it’s forbidden from being ‘active’ by high pressure except when the high retreats & allows some glorious humidity with storminess) summer pattern after a mild, wet (humidity with storminess set in place) one led us out of May and into June. “Typical” being highs in the 90s F (32-38C) and lows in the 70s F (21-26C); “mild” being highs in the 80s F (26-32 C) and lows in the mid 60s to mid 70s F (18-23C).

Whelp, this weekend, that high is, indeed, retreating, and allowing us to have a beautiful pattern more in line with a subtropical rainforest environment – mild/comfortably warm & stormy – as we go through the weekend into the start of this upcoming week.

That high has to go somewhere, and that “somewhere” is the West Coast states + Southwestern British Columbia, who, with the exception of Southern California, are NOT used to the kinda heat found in the deserts of the U.S. Deep Southwest + North Central/Northwest Mexico, which are the main stomping grounds of that aforementioned high & a continental (dry) tropical air mass.

Check out what the Euro model (ECMWF) says are gonna be amongst the daytime temps for the next couple days. It’s gonna be dry and just plain sizzlin’ HOT as far north as the Vancouver metro. Many, many all-time record highs are bound to be shattered, including #Portland’s, whose current record stands at 107 F (41 C), and has a forecast high on Monday in the mid 110s (~46 C).

For another reference/comparison, this is comparable to the daytime summer highs in cities/regions known for being amongst the hottest on Earth, such as Riyadh, Baghdad, Kuwait, Alice Springs, & the core Sahara.

Excessive Heat Warnings abound. Stay sensible, cool, & safe out West, y’all.
